August Loveliness at Craftopia
Hello my darlings!
How are you all? Is it just me or is there a touch of autumn in the air? Is it wrong to say that I’m happy……I love autumn the most!
So I come with lots of news. I’ve just added a couple of new workshops onto the website. In November we’ll be joined by my friend Eleonora Tully of Coastal Crochet who’ll be teaching us the basics of Filet Crochet. I’m thrilled about this as I want to make a Filet half curtain for my new house. The windows at the front are quite overlooked and I think a pretty half curtain will give me some privacy whilst still letting in the light. It’s also a wonderful technique for shawls and garments.
Also joining us in December is Liz Jones, printmaker extraordinare!
Liz will be teaching us how to make our own Lino cutting to use for printing all kinds of gorgeous things.
I have a couple of her lampshades and dream of adding one of my own to the collection.
Liz works from nature, which really appeals to me. You’ll be amazed at what you can achieve under her guidance.
Our online shop is going from strength to strength. I’m amazing myself daily by learning how to manage it. I’m having to ask for help less often and each listing I do is quicker than the last.
We’ve been thrilled by your response to our Odile Bailloeul kits. Some of you will have seen that I can’t stop making them!
We’ve lots of these lovely kits and you can have a browse here…
We’ve had a great response to our Elemental Waves Sweater Kits
This pattern was designed for us exclusively by Chloe Birch and it’s been such fun putting the kits together.
I’m just finishing a couple of WIPs then I’m going to start making one for myself. I’ve got my eye on the Tennyson colour way by Jess at Pigment and Ply.
You can find this kit, and other colourways here
I’m also longing to cast on a sweater that Chloe designed for West Yorkshire Spinners in their Exquisite yarn. The only problem is choosing which delicious colour to use.
On the crochet front, I’ve loved making Natalia of Outstanding Crochet’s Jeans Market Bag.
It used just one skein of Scheepjes Skies Light. I made mine in green and would love to also do it in white and blue. The colours in this yarn range are so beautiful and it’s gorgeous to work with.
You can find the yarn here
Also new in the shop, we have a selection of Stitcher Tees t shirts and sweatshirts.
These beauties are 100% fair trade organic cotton. They make a great gift to a crafting friend or to yourself. Click to explore!
So, happy crafting my lovelies!
Lots of love
